How satisfied are you with your life nowadays? The Office for National Statistics asked people in the UK.

5 The vast majority of people described themselves as ‘happy’
The vast majority of people described themselves as ‘happy’. Almost all of Brits feel satisfied with their family life. A very small fraction of people in the UK said that they were unhappy with their lives.

7    Relationships Most people who were in a relationship reported being satisfied with their lives. Almost all of Brits feel satisfied with their family life.

8 Health Only a small minority of people who rated their health as poor or very poor, described themselves as “very happy”.

9 Age A substantial portion of those from 65 to 79 reporting feeling very satisfied with their lives, but only a little over half of 45 to 54 year olds.

10 Gender Women were more likely to report feeling happy. About three quarters of women reporting they felt happy with their lives.

11 Unemployment Just under half of unemployed people rated their life satisfaction as average or low.

12 Where you live /Money Nearly everyone questioned in Northern Ireland claimed they were very happy. Northern Ireland has one of the lowest average annual incomes.
