Research Data Repository Interoperability Co-Chairs: David Wilcox, Thomas Jejkal
WHY? - Found initiative while case statement preparation Has an own interoperability working group Search for points of contact between RDRIWG and COAR
2
Agenda Introduction and status update
Presentation of the draft deliverable Discussion and suggestions Prepare and discuss next steps Summary and concluding remarks - Involves scientists, authors, grant receipients, research institutions, publishers and funding agencies Open access repositories to collect, archive and disseminate research output main focus on articles, proceedings, dissertations (data sets), but also aware that there are other systems like research data repositories 1. Establish international research infrastructures 2. To Develop and manage repositories and repository networks 3. For repositories, repository networks and with other related systems 4. For repositories, repository networks
3
Introduction to the group
The Research Data Repository Interoperability Working Group will establish standards for interoperability between different research data repository platforms. These standards may include (but are not limited to) a generic API and import/export formats.
4
Initial use cases Migration/Replication of a Digital Object between research data repository platforms Platform, data model and/or version may differ between source and destination Retrieval of information related to the platform and/or its contents E.g. to register the system in a (repository) registry or to harvest contents
5
Value proposition Allowing institutions to access and share data in a common way by: Removing barriers Facilitating collaboration Creating commonalities

Feedback Desired from RDA Community
From Platform Developers: How do you assess the applicability for your platform? Where do you see challenges/obstacles for an adoption? Do you want to be an adopter? From Platform Users: Do you think our approach will help you? What do you think is missing?
