2. Objectives of inter-ministerial Retreat and One Health Platform Launch
Increase awareness and political support of Ministers and senators regarding the OH approach
Enhance understanding, buy-in and support of One Health approach institutionalization in Liberia;
Validate the TOR for the OHP
Review and Sign Commitment to affirm Ministerial coordination on OHP establishment
Agree on a road map and steps for institutionalization and operationalization of OH in Liberia

3. Preparedness & Response (P&R) Project
P&R works with national governments
to establish and strengthen systems, policies, and practices
for prevention, detection, response and control of emerging disease threats, especially zoonotic diseases.
The P&R project is part of the USAID-funded EPT-2 suite of One Health projects, aligned with supplemental funding from GHSA.
P&R works in 16 countries to establish and strengthen multisectoral collaboration in the prevention, detection and response to emerging disease threats. P&R is also part of a larger suite of projects under USAID’s Emerging Pandemic Threats-2, or EPT-2.

Initiate and support the development, testing, and implementation of National Preparedness and Response Plans (NPRPs)

5. How we Define One Health
One Health is the collaborative efforts of multiple disciplines working locally, nationally, and globally to attain optimal health for people, animals, plants and our environment.
P&R uses a definition of One Health derived from the OIE/WHO Tripartite concept note, which you can see is multi-sectoral and works at multiple levels of government.
