2 You’re going to rewrite the story of ‘Rapunzel’.
First, change the prince into another character, for example, a hunter or a soldier. You’re going to rewrite the story of ‘Rapunzel’. hunter soldier

3 You’ve chosen the hunter
You’ve chosen the hunter. Now you need to change the events in the story. Do you still remember the three sections of a story: beginning, middle and ending? Let’s rewrite the beginning of the story now. You can use a story map to help you plan the new story.

Her name was Rapunzel. One day Rapunzel saw a hunter and shook her long hair out of the window. The hunter climbed up her hair. Use the simple past tense to write your story. Now change your notes in the story map into sentences.

Come back when your teeth are clean,’ said Rapunzel. Add dialogue to make the story more interesting.

How often do you wash your feet?’ asked Rapunzel. ‘Once a month,’ said the hunter. ‘You ought to wash your feet once a day …’ started Rapunzel.

Ending the hunter climbed out of the window and never came back again The hunter ran to the window. ‘You’re too bossy! I don’t want to rescue you anymore!’ he said. He climbed out of the window and never came back again. Add extra dialogue to make your ending more interesting.

Once upon a time a witch put a beautiful girl in a tall tower. Her name was Rapunzel. One day Rapunzel saw a hunter and shook her long hair out of the window. The hunter climbed up her hair. ‘I’m here to rescue you,’ smiled the hunter. ‘Oh! Your teeth are bad and dirty. How often do you brush your teeth?’ asked Rapunzel. The hunter was surprised. ‘Twice a week,’ he replied. ‘You ought to brush your teeth twice a day. Come back when your teeth are clean,’ said Rapunzel. ‘OK. I’m going to brush my teeth twice a day. The next week the hunter climbed up Rapunzel’s hair again. He walked towards Rapunzel. ‘Ugh! Your feet smell awful. How often do you wash your feet?’ asked Rapunzel. ‘Once a month,’ said the hunter. ‘You ought to wash your feet once a day …’ started Rapunzel. The hunter ran to the window. ‘You’re too bossy!
