1. Presentation of an Original Fable
Using the Sock Puppets App, you will create and present an original fable.
Follow the directions below to complete the activity.
Reread “Two Frogs in the Milk Vat.”
While referring to the Rubric you will create an original fable using the Sock Puppet app
Use Bubble Maps to create the characters in your fable. You will create the names and characteristics of each character. You should create at least 3 characters; therefore, you should have at least 3 Bubble Maps – one for each character.
Now, use a Flow Map to create the plot of your fable. Be sure to develop the plot around the characters you have created. REMEMBER: a fable should have a moral or lesson that is taught through the telling of the story. You should have at LEAST 10 squares for your Flow Map – taking into consideration the Short Story Plot Diagram (Beginning Situation or Exposition, Rising Action (events leading up to the climax), Climax (the highest point of suspense), Falling Action (the problems begin to be resolved), and Resolution – all problems are resolved and your moral or lesson are told.)
Use the Sock Puppet App to create your fable. Each character should look different and have different personalities and voices.
Be sure to make your fable “flow” as you tell it through the use of the Sock Puppet App. Make it interesting and fun for the viewer to watch.
Each student will present their fable to the class on the promethean board.
After watching the fable presentations, each student will complete a Double Bubble Map and compare and contrast the experience of READING a fable to WATCHING the presentation of one.
