4. Storytelling is an ancient art and has evolved from word of mouth
Today we can tell stories using software & multimedia to create powerful presentations.
This format would be known as:
Digital Storytelling

5. What is Photo Story 3? Presentation software
Uses a wizard format to assist the user to create the presentation.
Wizard allows import of pictures, & then sound, text, effects and transitions can be added to the pictures.
Free software from Microsoft
Used predominantly for Digital Storytelling

6. Photo Story 3 Tools Software, such as Photo Story 3 allows us to add:
Graphics
Titles
Narration (you can add the narration)
Motion and Transitions (and you can customize)
Sound

There are many good teaching videos available

Publish your completed masterpieces at our OCDSB Digital Showcase blt.ocdsb.ca/netcaster.ca

Flickr allows you to use an Advance search for non-copyrighted free photos

12. Get Organized!
1. Create a folder on your H: drive for this workshop called “Photo Story Workshop”
Start > My Document >File >New Folder.
A New folder will appear.
To rename: Backspace “New Folder” (in blue) and type “Photo Story Workshop”
2. Double-click (open) your folder “Photo Story Workshop” and create 3 new folders. Name them “Images”, “Project” and “Publish”

13. File Type is Important
This file type indicates a project file and will open to the wizard.
File type is .wp3 and goes in “Project”
This file type indicates a file that is complete and ready to play.
File type is .wmv and goes in “Publish”

14. Software Check
First check to see if Photo Story 3 is already installed

15. Software Installation
If you didn’t see Photo Story 3 within “All Programs” you will need to install it:

16. Hands On Time Please open Photo Story 3 and create your Photo Story.
