7 The Question In Daly 3B (Outpatient Observation), does use of quiet kits reduce noise and improve patient recovery at Baystate Health, compared with current noise reduction strategies over the course of three months?

8 Why is this Important? Noise is detrimental to the patient experience and consistently contributes to poor HCAP scores

Noise is a major contributor of sleep disturbance Sleep disturbance imposes both psychological and physiological stressors among hospitalized patients that include: Increased risk of hypertension Increased pain perception, anxiety, and stress Increased learned helplessness Increased number of communication errors between hospital staff members Decreased patient healing
