1 Year 11 Contrasts HW

2 Task one Look again at the PP for ideas.
Take photos as a starting point. Glue in your book. Produce some observational line drawings. Annotate. Combine the photos, drawings and notes. Create inspirational pages. Your ideas still might change.

3 Task two Fill a page in your book with observational shaded drawings, colour studies or any other media. Think about your future plans (as you think at the moment). You may work also from your own photographs. Think about landscapes, portraits, flowers, objects etc. Remember, your ideas will evolve.

4 Task three Look at your work so far including your resources booklet provided with the homework. Look also at the list of artists (end of the booklet). Choose 5 artists for inspiration. Think what could help you with your own work and how would you like developing it. Write it as an introduction. Add examples of your chosen artists’ work. Write the artists’ names and research some information about the chosen art work. Write about the ideas behind the work, techniques, media etc. Explain your interest in the chosen work and how the artists’ work relates to the ‘Contrasts’ theme.

5 Task four What next? Look at your work so far. Think about your future plans or, the content of your work (for example, objects you have chosen, landscape, portrait etc.). Produce more, big size, observational studies. Experiment with a range of media.

6 Task five What are the ideas behind your final design and where are they coming from? Write about the ideas behind your work. Produce more sustained studies to help you with the final study. Think about shapes, form, textures, details etc. Think about the content of your work and the ideas behind it. Prepare for your 2D or 3D work. a polka-dot has the form of the sun, which is a symbol of the energy of the whole world and our living life, and also the form of the moon, which is calm. Round, soft, colourful, senseless and unknowing. Polka-dots become movement... Polka dots are a way to infinity

7 Task six In-depth study on your chosen artist, linking to your final design(2D or 3D). Produce a written study on an artist who links and has connections with your ideas and final composition. My chosen artist is: Present your work with research and your own opinion. Introduction. Glue some examples of your chosen artist’s work. Explain you are looking at the artist to help you develop your own ideas further. What do you like about your chosen artist’s work? Section one. Brief biography of your chosen artist’s life. Section two. Describe the type of work the artist does. Explain his/her ideas behind the work. Explain any art movements the artist belonged to. Section three. Describe the methods, media and techniques the artist used. Section four. Describe how the artist work and ideas link to your own ideas and work. Jann Waworth

12 Task seven Produce an A4 experimentation of your final study. Use a wide range of media. Or, draw your 3D work (from photos) and experiment with possible future plans. Think about shapes, colour, textures, details etc. Or, produce a model (or part of the model) of your final design.

13 Task eight Complete your refined final study started in class.
Or, complete your 3D work started last week. Or, produce a refined colour study of your 3D work (from photos). Try a different angle.

14 Task nine Fill a page in your book with an enlarged section of your final study (2D or 3D). Add chosen media. Or, create a 3D model of a section from your chosen final design. Or, produce a refined colour study of your 3D work(another view/ angle). The task depends on the nature of you final design. If you are not sure, consult your teacher.

15 Task ten Individual set homework depending on the work so far. Could be to complete 3D work. Or, apply paint, collage, details etc. Or, produce another necessary page in the book. Or, look at another artist. Or, write about the ideas behind the student’s work.

16 Task eleven Complete all your homework tasks. Annotate. Complete your art history tasks. Sustain and refine your shaded and colour studies. Complete your observational studies. Complete your final studies and make sure you have experimented enough. Are you ready for your exam?
