Best Accessory for Fall 2012….Nails!
Forget the shoes and the bag, the best accessory to any outfit and the latest trend in fashion for Fall 2012 is…Nail Art! The plain old nail polish is so out. The best way to express your creativity is through trendy nails. There’s plenty to choose from…cool beige tones to the deep dark red…from polka dots to pop-art effects and texture on nails. Here are some nail trends for you to experiment with this fall. Just take some polish and a steady hand (and perhaps some toothpicks too). Natural look with a kick Plain natural beige might be boring so take it up a notch by adding some glitter polish on it. It’s perfect for a night out! Dark and Metallic look It’s easy to achieve this high tech feminine look and it’s very sheik too. Deeper, darker and metallic styles are in everywhere in the fall trends. Hues from classic rich shades like burgundy to midnight blue create an intrigue of something forbidden along with a strong feminine touch to your nails. To achieve this look apply two coats of metallic polish and then put a topcoat. For that striking look with dark nail polish, keep your nails short and square with rounded corners.

Here’s a twist on the traditional French manicure
Here’s a twist on the traditional French manicure. Since neutrals are going to be very popular this Fall, this is a nice way to add a fun spin to the trend. To get this look, paint your nails with two coats of natural beige or any light color. Once it’s dry, first paint a wide strip of your favorite dark sparkly polish and then a thin strip along the edge. Remember, it is not going to be easy to do two perfect stripes on your nail…perhaps this one is for the nail salon. Photo: Imax Tree Polka Dots & florals

This is a wonderful style to stand out and make a statement
This is a wonderful style to stand out and make a statement. No one will miss polka dots or flowers on your nails. To create the polka dot look, apply two coats of your favorite polish and, once dry, make dots on it with a nail polish brush. If you are going to try nail art at home, this is the easiest to try as the dots can be of different sizes to give a fun effect. However, painting a flower on your nail is not so easy. Last thought, energize your look this fall with nails in bright pink, primary red, greens and midnight/cobalt blue colors. These are just some ideas to get you started. There are lots more ideas like stripes, checkerboards, etc. Come up with your own nail art and share on the “Post & Share” section.
