1. Paul’s Last Words, “Come Before Winter”
2 Tim. 4:6-8

2. 6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Paul’s companion in trials for years and years
“I have no other one like him” (Phil. 2:20)
Today’s lesson, looks at Paul’s last words
The end is near (v. 6); “remember these things”

4. Remember to Be Faithful (4:1-5)
“Timid” Timothy (1:5-7)
Not all Christians will remain faithful
“The time will come . . .”
At such times, “Preach the word”

5. Remember the Rewards (4:6-8)
Encouragement when we look at faithful
Who suffered more than Paul
“I ran the race, I fought the fight . . .”
Henceforth (KJV) — The message to all of us
This is the hope we find at the cross!

6. Remember My “Needs” (4:9-15)
Be diligently to come quickly
“I am lonely and I need you, Timothy”
Because Demas has forsaken me
Others have left to help churches
Only Luke is with me, bring Mark
Bring the cloak, the books & parchments
Timothy, beware of Alexander, a real danger

7. Remember My Trials & His Help (4:16-18)
Paul’s first trial, all men forsook me
Paul’s second trial, “I am already being poured out as a drink offering” (v. 6)
The time of my departure is at hand
The Lord stands beside me, this is hope (v. 17)

8. Remember to Come Before Winter (4:19-21)
No winter traveling, seize the opportunity
Come quickly, bring the cloak, winter is coming
Did Timothy make it, we do not know
Opportunities must be seized or be lost
Are there things you need to do before winter?

9. Things to Do Before Winter Comes
Believe John 3:16
Repent Acts 17:30
Confess Faith Acts 8:36-37
Be Baptized Into Him Gal. 3:27
Added to His church, His body, His kingdom
Be Faithful until death Rev. 2:10

10. Remember to Come Before Winter (4:19-21)
No winter traveling, seize the opportunity
Come quickly, bring the cloak, winter is coming
Did Timothy make it, we do not know
Opportunities must be seized or be lost
Are there things you need to do before winter?
Obey the gospel, before winter
Be restored to the Lord, before winter
Settle wrongs with others, before winter
Ask family members to forgive you, before winter
You will never regret always doing right
Do right, right now, before winter
