Quick Exposure Checklist (QEC)
Assess the changes in exposure to musculoskeletal risk factors of the back, shoulders and arms, hands, wrists and neck before and after an ergonomic intervention Involve the practitioner (i.e the observer) who conducts the assessment and the worker who has direct experience of the task Indicate change in exposure scores following and intervention

REBA REBA SCORES 1 negligible risk
2 or 3 low risk, change may be needed 4 to 7 medium risk, further investigation, change soon 8 to 10 high risk, investigate and implement change 11+ very high risk, implement change

POETs so far… Slide Sheets – 4 Methods (Bangs & Baird 2014)
Maybe some of our difficulties in reaching professional agreement on a particular technique is simply attributable to using non-comparable equipment, maybe we are just not comparing like with like in our discussions Although I wanted to get numerical evidence, human factors seem to play a more significant role in our technique preference, than a perceived reduction in a risk of injury to ourselves or the patient. For example, being able to see the patient and each other while performing the technique was often noted in the comments boxes as important as was ‘feeling’ comfortable before, during and after the task.
