11 PDCR Installation/Upgrade Procedures
If the customer has NOT had a PS PDCR service in the past, this is considered a PDCR New Install If the customer has PDCR structures, determine if PDCR has been Installed by PS or through PS scripts, this is considered a PDCR PS Upgrade Select databasename, tablename, commentstring from dbc.tablesv where databasename = ‘pdcrdata’; If PS PDCR scripts have been used, comment string should show package information. If DIP scripts are used, the package name will not be present. PS comment string example - DBQLogTbl History PDCRTD DIP script comment string example - DBQLogTbl History PDCR 15.10 If the customer has PDCR structures, but they have not been installed by PS or through PS scripts, this is considered a PDCR Product Upgrade © 2014 Teradata

53 PDCR Support – Functional Areas
Determine the problem and identify the appropriate functional area (1) PDCR Core – Core Tables/Macros – table structure issues, like Skew/PI/Partitioning/Data Incident/GSC/DBS support on TD 15 and above for those customers that have used PDCRDIP to install PDCR Core structures (2) PDCR Core – Maintenance Process – Viewpoint portlet errors or SQL errors for the data movement Incident/GSC/VP support on Viewpoint and above for those customers that are using the Viewpoint portlet for data movement (3) PDCR Extensions – PDCR Data Migration – Job failures for processing the PDCR migration scripts PS request for support (4) PDCR Extensions – Reporting Views and Macros – SQL issues running a reporting macro (5) PDCR Extensions – Reporting Toolkit – errors trying to use the Excel toolkit © 2014 Teradata

54 PDCR Support – PDCR Core Tables/Macros
(1) PDCR Core – Core Tables/Macros table structure issues, like skew/PI/partitioning/data quality or installation problems Support varies depending on release – either a GSC incident or reporting to PS depending on the issue and if DIP scripts were used Determine database version (if below TD 15, contact PS) Determine if PS scripts were used to install PDCR Core functionality, use the following query to view the comment string: select commentstring from dbc.tablesv where databasename = 'pdcrdata' and tablename = 'dbqlogtbl_hst'; PS comment string example - DBQLogTbl History PDCRTD DIP script comment string example - DBQLogTbl History PDCR 15.10 If the comment string indicates the DIP scripts were used, then an incident should be opened for any issues related to the PDCR core tables/views/macros If the comment string indicates the PS scripts were used, then contact PS © 2014 Teradata

55 PDCR Support – Maintenance Process
(2) PDCR Core – Maintenance Process Viewpoint Performance Data Collection portlet errors or script errors for the data movement Support varies depending on if the customer is using the Viewpoint Performance Data Collection portlet Determine if the customer is using the Viewpoint Performance Data Collection portlet or cron scripts from the Viewpoint server If the customer is using the Viewpoint portlet, then an incident should be opened If the customer is using the cron scripts from the Viewpoint server, then contact PS © 2014 Teradata

56 PDCR Support – Data Migration Process
(3) PDCR Extensions – PDCR Data Migration Job failures for processing the PDCR migration scripts PDCR Data Migration is supported by PS until otherwise notified There are plans to include some migration functionality in TD 16, but it is not confirmed. © 2014 Teradata

57 PDCR Support – Reporting Views and Macros
(4) PDCR Extensions – Reporting Views and Macros SQL issues running a reporting macro Use the comment string test to determine if a structure is a Reporting View or Macro, use the following query to view the comment string: select commentstring from dbc.tablesv where databasename = 'pdcrdata' and tablename = 'dbqlogtbl_hst'; PS comment string example - DBQLogTbl History PDCRTD DIP script comment string example - DBQLogTbl History PDCR 15.10 If the comment string indicates a PS structures, contact PS for support PDCR Reporting Views and Macros are supported by PS until otherwise notified © 2014 Teradata
