$53,415,000 Estimated Construction Award December 2007 Estimated Construction Completion July 2007 This will be the first new international crossing in decades. The Maine department of transportation bridge construction is well underway. 35 Under the current funding Guidelines imposed by the Office of Management and Budget, GSA’s project delivery timeline is approximately seven years from the time we receive CBP’s program of requirements to the time of construction completion. The timeline pictured in this slide assumes the start of feasibility in 2007 and ends with a completed project in 2013, which is basically our 2010 design program. Although we can do very little to alter the funding cycle and the associated lead times in order to obtain Congressional approval, GSA, in concert with CBP are beginning to investigate alternative delivery methods (i.e. such as design build) and standardization of port of entry components (i.e. booths and Canopies) that will shorten the overall design period and ultimately the duration of construction.
