1 LIFE CYCLE COSTING IN BIM MANAGEMENT
Vladimír NÝVLT VŠTE České Budějovice, Dept. of Civil Engineering,

2 BIM and LCC Potential to enhance the quality of information in whole LC More integrated information and collaboration through processes in DCO BIM as enabler of improving many factors – water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, etc. BIM allows us to understand how to put a building together better, how that building should perform and later, how it might be taken apart

3 BIM and Sustainable design
Typical BIM-based workflow: Mechanical engineer leverages architectural design model, By using architect’s model mechanical engineer ensures the building mechanical systems design is coordinated with architectural model …. eliminates redundant modelling effort, Mechanical engineer defines all the heating/cooling zones and spaces, and upload data into model The model also captures all geometry, lighting density, thermal properties, heating temperature, etc. It all represents more accurate model

4 Barriers to BIM adoption
Lack of senior management support Cost of implementation (Software and Training) Scale of culture change required Other competing initiatives Lack of supply chain buy-in Staff resistance and ICT literacy Legal uncertainties Ownership and intellectual property

5 Critical Success Factors
Willingness to share information among project participants Master BIM model team/manager Effective collaboration among project participants Organizational structure to support BIM Continuous investment Leadership of senior management Information sharing protocols BIM training programs Standardized work procedures for BIM

6 May we use "worm hole" for getting information from future?
