Programme managed nationally Cumbria has £78m allocation ERDF circa £41.8m ESF circa £29.1m EAFRD circa £7.7m Opportunities to apply through funding calls at Two stage application process Cumbria’s ESIF Committee has ‘strategic fit’ input

5 EAFRD Priority Key Activities 4.2 - Food Processing
Capital grants to businesses in the food and drink sector 6.4 – Rural Business Development Capital grants to support growth in rural businesses 7.2 - Renewables Capital grants for renewable energy investments in rural communities and businesses 7.3 - Broadband Capital grants for broadband infrastructure within the hardest to reach rural communities (final 5%) 7.5 – Tourism Infrastructure Capital grants to develop new or improve rural tourist attractions 16.3 – Tourism Co-Operation Support for tourism businesses to work together to improve the local visitor offer 16.4 – Co-Operation in Food Processing Support for businesses in local supply chains to work together to shorten supply chains

6 Measure 4.2 Food Processing
Grants to support growth and job creation within Cumbria’s food and drinks sector £1.4m available Support available to; Construct or improve buildings Purchase new equipment or machinery LEP looking to support projects that deliver; Innovation Expansion Support local producers Enable entry into new markets The application of new techniques and processes

7 Measure 6.4 – Rural Business Development
Grants to support rural businesses to grow and create jobs £930,000 available Support available to; Construct or improve buildings Purchase new equipment or machinery Support farm diversification into non-agricultural activity LEP looking to support projects that; Increase business productivity Enable businesses to expand and attract new customers Support diversification Allow businesses to adopt new processes and techniques.

8 Measure 7.5 – Rural Tourism Infrastructure
Grants to support projects that will; Encourage more tourists to visit Cumbria Encourage tourists to stay longer Increase visitor spend £1.2m available Support available to fund capital expenditure on tourism infrastructure projects LEP focus on; Increasing the number of high quality tourist attractions Increasing year round attractions Increasing the contribution tourism makes to the economy Creating jobs
