2. Introductory presentation
In this first presentation, you will use a mix of old and new vocabulary to tell me about yourself and your family 
Presentations will begin this Wednesday, September 27.
This will be the first of two major grades for the first nine weeks.

3. Minimum requirements
You will give a 60-second presentation in Spanish describing yourself and your family. Your presentation will include:
Your name, age and where you live (city or community)
At least two adjectives that describe you. Elaborate on at least one of those qualities. (e.g., I am fun and outgoing. I love to spend time with my friends.)
At least one thing you like or love to do. This may be related to the point above or be a separate point.
Descriptions of at least two family members. You may choose to talk about their likes and dislikes, their professions, things you do as a family, etc. Also mention one thing you value as a family.
To improve your chances at getting a WOW! for vocabulary and/or details and elaboration, tell us other interesting things that you wish to share about you or your family.

4. expectations
This is a presentational speaking performance. You will be speaking to the teacher and not to the class.
Use what you know. You may need to look up a small amount of words, but don’t try to say what you are able to say in English.
You WILL NOT have any notes/scripts with you. The prompts will be posted on the board so that you know what you need to say. These prompt represent minimum requirements. In order to get a WOW! on the categories of the rubric, you need to speak more than the minimum. Use transition words to add vocab and elaboration to your ideas.
Optional—you may bring one item as a visual aid for your presentation. Possible items include: a photo, an object that represents a personal interest, a souvenir, etc. Do not bring valuables!

5. preparation
DO NOT WRITE OUT YOUR ENTIRE PRESENTATION! I recommend writing out ideas, phrases and key vocab. If you don’t know how to put together a particular sentence, you should not be using that sentence.

Tuesday: group rehearsals—you will have a few minutes to review your presentation, then we will get into small groups and practice “grading” each other using the blue presentational speaking rubric.
