1 EPPR secretariat proposal
EPPR (EPPR Sec.) VPSD vs EPPR Rev 1 EPPR secretariat proposal for Amendment of definitions in Draft Revision of GTR2 (EPPR Rev1e) w.r.t. VPSD Document ECE-TRANS-WP e

2 The definitions for terms which are common in the two documents are tabulated below for comparison.
All other terms in Document EPPR Rev 1e do not appear ECE-TRANS-WP e Definition in EPPR-11-15(Rev 01) Definitions VPSD ECE-TRANS-WP e Item. No. Definitions ItemNo. 4.11 ‘drive train’ means the part of the powertrain downstream of the output of the propulsion unit(s) that consists if applicable of the torque converter clutches, the transmission and its control, either a drive shaft or belt drive or chain drive, the differentials, the final drive, and the driven wheel tyre (radius); 1.3 "Drivetrain" means the connected elements of the powertrain for transmission of the mechanical energy between the propulsion energy converter(s) and the wheels. 4.20. ‘flex fuel vehicle’ means a vehicle with one fuel storage system that can run on different blends of two or more fuels; 5.1.4. "Flex-fuel vehicle" means a vehicle with one fuel storage system for a mixture of fuels and an internal combustion engine that operates on a mixture or on either of those fuels.

3 Item no. Definition in EPPR-11-15(Rev 01)
Definitions VPSD ECE-TRANS-WP e Item no. Definitions ItemNo. 4.21. ‘fuel cell’ means a converter of chemical energy from hydrogen into electric energy for propulsion of the vehicle; 1.2.3 "Fuel cell" means a propulsion energy converter transforming chemical energy (input) into electrical energy (output) or vice versa. 4.29. ‘mono-fuel vehicle’ means a vehicle that is designed to run primarily on one type of fuel; 5.1.1 Mono-fuel vehicle" means a vehicle with an internal combustion engine that operates primarily on one type of fuel. 4.39. ‘powertrain’ means the components and systems of a vehicle that generate power and deliver it to the road surface, including the engine(s), the engine management systems or any other control module, the pollution environmental protection control devices including pollutant emissions and noise abatement systems, the transmission and its control, either a drive shaft or belt drive or chain drive, the differentials, the final drive, and the driven wheel tyre (radius); 1 "Powertrain" means the total combination in a vehicle, of propulsion energy storage system(s), propulsion energy converter(s), the drivetrain(s), providing the mechanical energy at the wheels for the purpose of vehicle propulsion, plus peripheral devices.

4 Item no. Definition in EPPR-11-15(Rev 01)
Definitions VPSD ECE-TRANS-WP e Item no. Definitions ItemNo. 4.45. ‘pure electric vehicle’ means a vehicle powered by: a system consisting of one or more electric energy storage devices, one or more electric power conditioning devices and one or more electric machines that convert stored electric energy to mechanical energy delivered at the wheels for propulsion of the vehicle; an auxiliary electric propulsion unit fitted to a vehicle designed to pedal; 5.3.1 "Pure electric vehicle" means a vehicle equipped with a powertrain containing exclusively electric machines as propulsion energy converters and exclusively rechargeable electric energy storage systems as propulsion energy storage systems.
