Andhra Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram

2 Location and demographics
Addateegala is a small village about 75 KM North-West of the town of Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, India. This village is a common point to many other villages that do not have road connectivity. These villages are part of the beautiful Papi Kondalu of the Eastern Ghats hill range on the South-East coast of India. The population of this area is about 10,000 people belonging to about 3 tribes.

3 Existing hostel and facilities
About 25 children from 8 neighboring villages live together in a small hostel building. The children age from about 6 years to 14 years stay in this hostel, and study in the nearby Government run school. A caretaker couple look after the children. The monthly living expenses for the children are borne by some benevolent donors. File picture of children participating in daily exercises

4 Issues faced and help required
The existing building is in a dilapidated state, and not conducive to stay. A makeshift room is constructed, but is extremely cramped for space. Space is available around the existing building to construct a proper hostel building. Though a space is available, there are no funds to undertake the construction of the building. The proposed building will have separate rooms for boys and girls, a study hall and a meeting hall that will back up as a community hall. The overall cost is projected at INR 36,00,000. We are seeking your help to fund the construction. The donations are eligible for Tax exemption under Section 80(G) of the Income Tax Act.
