Toruń, Poland Expertise in: Modification of the titanium/titanium alloy implants surface with the use of chemical and physical methods, such as: chemical oxidation, electrochemical oxidation, thermal oxidation, in order to create optimal osseointegration conditions Synthesis of biocompatible materials on the base of titanium dioxide, possesing antibacterial properties Production of thin films with the use of methods from the gas phase, such as chemical vapor deposition, atomic layer deposition Characterization of biomaterials and nanomaterials with the use of instrumental analysis (XRD, SEM, AFM, EDX, TEM, Raman spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy) Studies on the photoactivity of biomaterials

Expected benefits and activities during participation in BIONECA:
Share experience with the groups who works with the metallic implants surface modification in order to create the optimal biomaterial for the needs of: (a) neurology and (b) cardiology Share experience with the groups who works with the composite or hybrid materials in order to create the optimal biomaterial for the needs of: (a) neurology implants and (b) cardiology implants Would like to learn from groups who are experienced in optimization of the biomaterial synthesis pathway for the needs of: (a) neurology implants and (b) cardiology implants Would like to share experience in 3D printing of implants Would like to learn about and propose design of new biomaterials for combined application with stem cells Would like to gather innovative combination of partners for new projects` applications Foreseen maximum contribution: in WG1 and WG2
