The current is induced (caused to flow) in a wire when it cuts across magnetic lines of force Can occur two ways: Move the iron core in and out of a coil of wire

Electromagnetism A wire wound into a coil has a much stronger magnetic field than a straight wire Two ways to increase the strength: The more turns in the coil, the stronger the field The more current flowing through the wire, the stronger the field
