Learning Goals Learning goal 1: Students will create a matching game using at least 10 types of figurative language. For 5 of the matches, ½ of the match should be the type, the other ½ should an example. For 5 of the matches, ½ of the match should an example of figurative language, the other ½ should explain what the example means. Learning Goal 2: Students will work together to create a figurative language board game using examples from the novel. Students must create 10 questions each and help create the board. 5 questions should have players identify the types of figurative language, and 5 questions should have players explain what the figurative language example means. Learning Goal 3: Students will create a figurative language poem based on the story so far. They will use original figurative language examples to write a 10-line poem. Each line must use a different type of figurative language. The poem must make sense Learning Goal 4: Students will create a comic strip or skit based on a scene from the story. The characters can only speak in figurative language. Comic/skit must contain at least 2 characters, 10 lines a piece, and the conversation should make sense. Comic have at least 10 panels and 10 types of figurative language.
