Courses and Administration Style
K-5 Specials (Music, Art, and PE) are all on the computer. Music will require the students to listen to audio files. K-2 Math (add how your school will administer) K-2 Humanities (add how your school will administer) K-4 Science(add how your school will administer)

Testing Schedule District Finals Testing Window is Monday, May 16 through Wednesday, June 8. Elementary School – 30 minute assessment in a 40 minute assessment period [Enter School specific testing schedule information here]

Important Dates Change these dates if needed for your school to use results in your grades, but these are the absolutely latest. All answer sheets must be scanned by the end of the day on Wednesday, June 8. All grades must be transferred into eSembler from Performance Matters by the end of the day on Thursday, June 9. All makeups must be complete in enough time to for teachers to have grades and input them into eSembler prior to the grade submission deadline.

Security Agreement Information
It is required that all Assessment Coordinators and Test Administrators (teacher or proctor) that are involved in the administration of District Finals complete our District Security Agreement Can be found on District Finals Canvas Page You will first have to enroll in the course and then complete the Security Agreement. If you have already completed it within the school year, you can access the agreement here ( Please read and complete at this time.

Security Agreement Information
A few key points: Everything regarding the District Finals is highly secure. It will follow the same security protocols as state testing. You are NOT to: Keep any test materials in any format. Coach students in any way during the test. View any of the test items prior, during, or after student testing. Use my cell phone, check , grade papers, or engage in other activities that will result in my attention not being on students at all times. Partake in any of the prohibited activities listed on the security agreement you have signed. You MUST: Read the script provided verbatim. Keep a secure testing environment. Complete all required documents provided by Assessment Coordinator. Return all test materials as soon as possible after testing is complete.

For every testing group, a District Finals Administration Record/Security Checklist must be completed. Serves as: Record of check-in/check-out of materials Roster with passwords Accommodations tracker Attendance record Will be provided in your District Finals materials when checked-out Must be completed and returned with all District Finals materials to Assessment coordinator

Secure Testing Environment
All students should be assessed in a secure testing environment. When administering a Paper-Based Test, students must be seated at least 3 feet apart. When administering a Computer-Based Test, students should be arranged in a way that limits the access to view one another’s computer. All electronic devices should be turned off and out of reach of students. All content specific resources should be cleared from the testing environment, and all materials should be accounted for prior to students leaving the environment.

Testing Ratio To follow the model of the FLDOE testing ratios we are requiring a ratio of: 1 trained certified staff per 25 students for Computer-Based Testing 1 trained certified staff per 30 students for Paper-Based Testing Teachers may administer assessments to their own students for their own courses

Materials Check-In/Check-out
Each day the Assessment Coordinator is expected to organize the check-out and check-in process for those Test Administrators giving an assessment that day. The District Finals Administration Record/Security Checklist must be used to record those materials that have been checked-out and checked-in each day. [Enter any school specific information here]

Elementary Reading Guides
When administering a District Final, the below reading guidelines must be followed by the Test Administrator at the elementary level: The Test Administrator may read a question stem or answer choice(s) to a student one additional time in any of the approved grades and subjects. Every elementary school will receive the below materials to help facilitate this process: Test Administrator Guides will include the Elementary District Finals Script and any passages, question stems, and answers choices allowed to be read by the Test Administrator. Accommodations As with any assessment, all accommodations required by a students’ IEP or 504 must be provided. The accommodations provided and if it was used must be documented on the District Finals Administration Record/Security Checklist, which can be found on the District Finals Resource Page under the District Finals Resource icon. Also, the Test Administrator will record that the accommodation was provided to the student and if the accommodation was actually used by the student when taking the assessment.

Oral Presentation The test must be read by a person, the computer cannot appropriately read the material to satisfy the accommodation requirement. For ELA tests (K-2 Humanities, English 3, and English 4), please follow the Oral Presentation Guidelines found on the District Finals Canvas page under the District Finals Resources icon. For all other District Finals, the entire assessment may be read to the student if necessary.

Extended Time Follow all specified time limits listed.
If the students IEP or 504 simply states they should receive Extended Time, we will adhere to the state’s model of no more than a full school day.

Paper Administration Students may write in test booklets and blank areas of answer sheets. Although we recommend using a pencil, any writing utensil may be used on the answer sheets. All answer sheets must be scanned using the RICOH copy machine at the school the day the student took the test.

Preparing the Lab for Testing
Post the generic student computer login information in a visible location: Username: aplus Password: aplus Post a reminder that students must click on the EXIT icon before closing Performance Matters to submit their test.

Student Login Students will first log in to the computer using the generic logins provided: Username: aplus Password: aplus The above logins will take the students to a streamlined desktop. First the student opens the “Spring-like” or “world” icon.

Testing All available tests will appear on the student’s Welcome Screen. Click on the test name to begin the test.

Summary of Symbols This screen will display a quick summary of the buttons available to students during the test. The test administrator may want to provide a printed page of these buttons for quick reference.

Start Screen The start screen displays the number of questions on the test and any special instructions. Note the Start button.

Navigation Answer each question. Use the Next and Previous buttons to navigate through the questions. In the top right-hand corner are any tools selected to appear for this test.

Pause and Resume If you need to stop the test, but aren’t ready to submit it for scoring, click Pause. You will be taken back to the welcome screen. Click the test name when you are ready to begin again. A summary of where you left off will appear. Just click Start to resume the test.

Finishing the test When you reach the last question on the test, you will see a Stop button. Click Stop after you’ve answered the last question.

Summary of Test Status A summary of your test status will appear, listing any questions left unanswered. Return to an unanswered question by clicking on it.

Testing (cont’d) To submit the test for grading, students must click the EXIT icon in the bottom right corner of the last screen. Once a student clicks EXIT, the test will no longer be available to them. If a student needs to complete a test at a later time, they can click the PAUSE icon.

Student Lock Out A new functionality of the Performance Matters assessment platform locks a student’s test when they navigate outside of the browser window in which the test is open. If a student’s test becomes locked, contact the Assessment Coordinator to have this unlocked.

Testing (cont’d) Once exiting the test, students should log out of Performance Matters by clicking the Log Out icon. Timesaving Tip: When students logout, the log in screen reappears and will be ready for your next class!

Helpful Tips Please remind students not to fold, bend, staple the answer sheet. If students mark in the QR code area, the answer sheet will not scan! It recommended that a student uses a pencil on the answer sheets. Use a blank answer sheet if a student messes up their original one or doesn’t have a pre-slugged answer sheet provided. The student must fill out their name and student id. Make sure the student also bubbles in the corresponding bubbles for the id.

Grading Procedures All grades must be transferred from Performance Matters to eSembler following the school’s grading policy. [School Specific Policy here] Use the Student Item Analysis Report in UNIFY to view individual student data. Data will be available the day after a student took an online assessment or the day after their answer sheet was scanned. If you do not see a specific students results in the Student Item Analysis Report the day after the student took the test, please contact the Assessment Coordinator immediately.

Now you will be in the UNIFY part of Performance Matters (myProgress). Each person’s homepage may look slightly different depending on your security level.

In UNIFY, select the Test drop down menu and select Student Item Analysis.

Now you have to select a test. You will see all tests any of your students have taken, but you should only see your students’ data.

Once you have selected a test, you should see the report populate. You can find your individualized student results at the bottom of the report in the Score Tables.

Make-up Procedures Make-up exams should be scheduled and administered prior to grades being due for that grading period. When a make-up is not able to be given a grade should be assigned in accordance to the Excused Absence Policy in the SPP for the school year.

Scanning Procedures If a school chooses to use Paper-Based Test Administration, it is the school’s responsibility to scan all answer sheets the day the students take the assessment using your RICOH copy machine. [School specific scanning procedures here] Prior to scanning, preview the answer sheets to make sure the QR code is clear of any stray markings, there is not any blank answer sheets included with completed answer sheets (unless the student truly earned a zero), and that there is no missing information on the answer sheet. Complete the Scan Log located next to copier each time you scan answer sheets to keep a log of what is scanned when. All other step-by-step directions on scanning can be found under the Performance Matters icon on the District Finals Canvas page.
