1 QUESTING THE SEARCH

2 HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ON A QUEST BEFORE?

3 MAYBE YOU HAVE BEEN ON A SCAVENGER HUNT.
That is where you are given a list and a bag and you have to find the things on the list within a certain amount of time.

4 You may need to find something from a tree

5 or from a flower

6 a shoe or something from it

7 or a toy

8 you might have to find something blue or something orange.

9 it all goes in a paper bag which you take back to the start as quickly as you can!

10 Ticks are questors too!

11 That means they go searching—for a mammal!
They are too small to run after them when they find them! They cannot fly to them like a mosquito! They cannot build a web to catch them like a spider! They have to wait for the mammal to come to them.

12 They know when the mammal is close and they reach out two of their legs to get ready to grab onto the the deer or the dog that brushes by the blade of grass on which they wait.

13 This is the same way ticks get onto you!

14 We think the tick knows the mammal is near
because it can sense one (or all) of three things: the carbon dioxide in the air the heat from the mammal the movement of the mammal

15 This rabbit has a tick on his ear.

16 Jesus said we are to know truth, and we find it in the Bible.
We are on a quest too! Jesus said we are to know truth, and we find it in the Bible. We are to arm ourselves with the sword of God’s Word!

17 Satan is also on a quest--for you and me! He will run after us!
BUT Satan is also on a quest--for you and me! He will run after us! He will lay snares for us! He will roar at us to scare us! He cannot grab us or destroy us, if we trust Jesus and stay close to him. Like Job, however, we will have problems, but Jesus will help us. Remember he is the Lion of the tribe of Judah! 17
