8 Tips from ISTE Reviewers
They are looking for detailed, specific descriptions rather than generalities in describing what the person has done.   Ideally there is data to back up any claims, from research studies that are small in nature. Increase in test scores, promotion, more going to college, etc. Fewer dropouts. Attempt to paint a word picture of the working environment. It is perhaps an intangible, but having something of inspiration, success, overcoming incredible difficulties gives a slight edge. (A principal who comes into an A school isn't nearly as interesting as one who makes an A school.)

9 VERY IMPORTANT! Regarding the principal videos that are being created as part of this application process… Only use MUSIC that you have RIGHTS to USE!! We can not post the videos if they have copyrighted music or other media.

10 ADVOCACY!! In this budget challenged time this award is an extremely cost effective way to promote the great things that are happening in our schools and districts utilizing technology. The bigger deal that you can make about this award locally, the better off we deliver our message! Get your local media involved! Photo ops with legislators acknowledging your local award is always a win-win for all!
