About MSc IT Master of Science (Information Technology) is an intensive two year post-graduate program (4 semesters) The courses are carefully designed to guide students through basic concepts to current practices in industry. Program Objective At the end of the program, it is expected that students attain a sound theoretical foundation; an ability to analyze, conceptualize and design systems; and necessary competence in modern software design and development tools. Eligibility Criteria A Bachelor’s degree holder from a recognized University in any stream with a first class OR an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/university, in the qualifying degree examination is eligible to apply. Program Structure [Summer-I]
Summer Internship (PC649) – Pass/Fail (4 Credits). Minimum for 8 weeks, and ideally have to be done in industry. General Objective of internships are following - Motivate students to apply concepts learned through class rooms and text books. Inculcate self learning of new technologies and appreciate its uses in the industry. Evaluation & Graduation Requirements
Student earn letter grades AA, AB, BB, BC, DD, DE, F in each credit course taken in a semester. Internships are Pass/Fail and do not contribute to Performance Indices. Total Credits: 79 Course Credits: 59 (12 Core courses, 2 Technical electives, and 1 open elective) Two Internships: 20 (Summer Internship (4 credits) and Project Internship (16 credits)) Maximum course load that can be taken in a semester is 6 courses.
