3 Social Studies Social Studies will be taught 1st and 3rd quarter. Topics that will be covered are the following: - cardinal directions - map vocabulary and comprehension - city and county discrimination  - traffic symbols - famous world landmarks - basic government vocabulary  - needs and wants - extended family vocabulary  - family features - holidays around the world - famous historical Americans

4 Science Science will be covered 2nd and 4th quarter. Topics that will be covered are the following: - 5 senses - motion and force - observation and measurement science tools - characteristics and needs of living things - animal classifications and habitats - basic organs - parts of a plant - Earth materials - landforms - weather tools and forecasting

5 All material covered will be based on their IEP goals and Objectives
English Language Arts All material covered will be based on their IEP goals and Objectives In addition we will be covering the following: -answering who, what, and where questions - basic sentence formation & grammar rules - short and long vowel words - rhyming - counting syllables - parts of speech: noun, verb, and adjective - basic synonyms and antonyms - blend and digraph words

Math All material covered will be based on their IEP goals and objectives. In addition we will cover the following: -single digit addition and subtraction - double digit addition with and without regrouping - double digit subtraction with and without regrouping - time to the quarter hour and five minute - more and less than symbols - coin combinations - writing 3 and 4 digit numbers - easy fractions - dollar up rounding - enough and not enough with money - addition and subtraction word problems - making change with money - time and money word problems

7 Functional Skills These are a few functional skills that we will cover in class. Measurement when cooking Grocery shopping math Menu math Friendships, communication, and problem solving Health, personal hygiene, exercise, and nutrition

8 Soft Skills Soft skills is Leadership skills that include the following: Problem-solving Decision-making Creativity Team-working Willingness to learn

9 Vocational Student will developing skills on food preparation, sanitary practices, community visits social interactions in a work environment. Starting in October, students will be running a breakfast Café. This is to hone in on individualized vocational skills.
