This is the metaphoric blank page of very-little visual rhetoric
This is the metaphoric blank page of very-little visual rhetoric. (Although cool font, amirite?) This moth, imo, is kind of boring. This moth is also boring. Plus, terrible background! And WHAT are those weird little bugs around the moth’s antennae and—presumably—mouth? (Please don’t tell me that moth’s eat little bugs?) (CARNIVOROUS moths? This changes the Lunesta commercial FOREVER.) Also: Why no color? So bland! A Visual Rhetoric of Bland! ? OH NOES!!! See? Little bugs. Also: JUST AS I ALWAYS SUSPECTED!!! Also: This has gotta go. Must eliminate creepy little bugs!

Ask me about my lack of visual rhetoric. (And my pyramid scheme.)

There is a happy ending to this story.

Before I took this class and learned about visual rhetoric, I just thought that I was crazy.
The addictive eye of Pixlr!!! Because it would take me zillions of hours to make a PowerPoint presentation. (In the time that I spent obsessively messing around with images, fonts, colors, space, size, placement, juxtapositionality, saturation, hue, focus, et cetera, I could have written and published five Quasi-Great American Novellas. For real!) Last year at about this time I found a thing that made me realize that PowerPoint was merely (!!!) the gateway drug kinda-addictive substance. Last year I discovered* PIXLR!!! The crack cocaine of very-addictive exemplar of what I now know to be visual rhetoric. *Thank you, Dr. Lackey! /sarcasm JUST SAY NO!!! Unless you LOVE visual rhetoric as desperately as I do!

What is Pixlr. (Besides the reason for no dissertation
What is Pixlr? (Besides the reason for no dissertation?) Wikipedia—of course!—defines/describes it best: Pixlr is a cloud-based set of image tools and utilities, including a number of photo editors, a screen grabber browser extension, and a photo sharing service. The suite was intended for non-professionals, however the apps range from simple to advanced photo editing. There are different variations of Pixlr available for use online, offline, and as mobile apps. The Pixlr Website explains: PIXLR EDITOR: Our most robust browser photo editor, for all your editing needs. PIXLR EXPRESS: A fun and powerful photo editor for making quick fixes or adding your personal style. PIXLR O-Matic: Transform your photos into cool, vintage images by adding fun, retro effects, overlays, and borders.

If I were presenting in person, I would take my
presentation to the Pixlr Web site and spend two—possibly three—hours demonstrating how I did all the PowerPoint things. Like: Turning this: into this: And this: Into this: It is ridiculously satisfying—see also: “addictive”—to utilize Pixlr in editing a picture so that it visually expresses a specific rhetoric through color, saturation, hue, shape, “blank” space, overlays, borders, additional images, cropping, font, size, perceived texture, vibrancy, airbrushing, and Pixlr’s various—and evolving—special effects.. Go try it! Explore Pixlr! Do it now! You know you want to! Also: Besides those pesky theses and dissertations, what else is there to do on this cold, cold, very-cold day? And this: And this: And this
