What is the DAES? DAES Overview
Quarterly process for OSD to review MDAP, MAIS, and special interest programs 3-month process includes: Month 1: PM reporting Month 2: OSD assessment Month 3: Briefing the DAES meeting All programs on oversight list must report quarterly Any program may be selected to brief at monthly OSD meeting Selection based on currency of data, quality of data, program performance, how long since last brief or special interest SAF/AQXC assumed responsibility for AF DAES as of 01 Nov 14 Interface with OSD; report validation, data quality, consistency, data transfer, DAMIR technical support, and meeting coordinator 3 3

General DAES Process Reports are due to SAF one week prior to OSD suspense (last day of the month) PMO enters DAES into DAMIR web tool; PEG approves to the AF Level prior to suspense date; SAF/AQXC releases to OSD OSD/AT&L assesses reports and recommends selections for programs to brief the DAES to USD(AT&L) SAF/AQXC will work with AQXRA, PEMs and PEGs to support or defend programs nominated for selection to brief USD(AT&L) will select programs to brief status at the DAES meeting – includes PM and PEO briefings SAF/AQXC will notify programs required to brief, support associated preparation and pre-briefings to SAF/AQ Selected program(s) will brief the DAES in person or via VTC

Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 1. Reports are due to SAF/AQX one week prior to the last day of the month. 2. No PM/PEG action during OSD assessments, unless there are specific questions from the analysts. 3. Briefing selections will generally be from the assigned group of that month; however, any program can be selected at any time. Only selected programs will brief. DAMIR Helpdesk:

Reporting Process PMs/PEOs input and approve DAES reports in the OSD DAMIR web tool PMO and PEG shall ensure there are no critical errors in the report by running data checks – on the submission status page SAF/AQXC will release the report to OSD via DAMIR – will work with AQXRA, PEMs and PEGs to resolve any remaining issues This icon combination = critical error – will not let report get released to OSD and MUST be resolved.

Briefing the DAES Meeting
Once formally selected for briefing the DAES Meeting: SAF/AQXC will inform PEMs and PEGs of the issues/concerns identified in OSD analysis and rationale for selection Briefing templates for both PM and PEO briefings will be provided PEM/PM should check with the OIPT if they desire a prebrief OIPT prebrief should occur PRIOR to prebrief with SAF/AQ SAF/AQXC will schedule prebrief with SAF/AQ - both PM and PEO expected to present (in person or via phone) The DAES meeting can be briefed in person or via VTC, but attendance is very limited Actions are captured in an OSD web tool, SAF/AQX tracks actions to closure and reports status to SAF/AQ bi-weekly

Other AQXC Responsibilities
Selected Acquisition Report (SAR) and MAIS Annual Report (MAR) Processes (as of 1 Nov 14) SAF/AQXC: Policy/process owner & interface with OSD; report validation, data quality, consistency, data transfer, DAMIR technical support, and meeting coordinator SAF/AQXR: Provides assessment of reasonableness and consistency with AF and OSD policy; supports AQXC, if needed, in discussions with OSD DAE Action Tracking (as of 1 Nov 14) Track status and ensure timely resolution of DAE actions from DAES or ADMs CSB, ASP, and AFRB Scheduling and Execution Schedules meeting, ensures board members present, coordinate logistics, provide HAF questions/concerns, prebrief leadership
