Welcome to all the children and families joining the school, and welcome back to everyone else! This newsletter will tell you a little about the Friends of Hailey School and what we have planned for this academic year.
Who are we?
What do we do?
We are all parents within the school. We have a committee (see table), and a group of parents who regularly help out at events.
We fundraise to provide things for the school that could not otherwise be funded. This ranges from big pieces of equipment to certain school trips.

What have FoHS funded in recent years?
Big equipment purchases have included additions to the trim trail and the school stage. Each year we also contribute to the school music lessons package and the Christmas pantomime trip.
Tough decisions for 2016─2017
Money we raise is put back into the school, helping Mrs Davies and the teaching staff to ensure our children get the best, rounded and fun school experience that they can. Unfortunately, we have had to make some tough decisions this year regarding what we are able to provide for the school. Jointly with the school’s budget, we can only fund music lessons for 40 mins rather than 1 hour. Money is tight for everyone, and parental contributions for activities such as school trips have decreased, meaning the school has to close the gap. Our aim is that together we raise funds for the school so that further tough decisions do not have to be made.

2. Fundraising initiatives How can you get involved?
This term we are launching the FoHS 100 club. Please see the accompanying sheet for full details.
The textiles recycling bin will be launching again soon. In the meantime, we will announce pre-arranged dates for collections via the school newsletter ─ textiles can be brought in to school in the preceding week.
easyfundraising.org.uk is a quick and easy way for you to help us fundraise – at no cost to yourselves!! Simply log in via the website before you do your online shopping, and select “Friends of Hailey Primary School – Witney” as your cause. We will then earn a donation when you shop online.
How can you get involved?
We are looking for representatives from Year 5 and Reception to join the committee – please speak to another Friend or come to the AGM if you would be up for it!
We also need an army of volunteers to help run each of the proposed events below. If you are able to help, please complete the attached reply slip and drop it into the school mailbox at reception by the end of September. Without YOUR HELP, events may have to be cancelled.
