2 The facts 47% of New Zealanders are likely to experience mental illness in their lifetime 6% of New Zealanders experience high or very high levels of psychological distress between 2008 – 2013, the number of New Zealanders using anti-depressants increased by nearly 23% from 348,000 to 428,000.

4 Changing the dialogue “The system works best when clinicians and “service users” come together. Remarkable outcomes are possible. We are a group of people that need to be cared about, not cared for.” You may not have a choice about what’s happened to you, but you do have a choice about your future. Never underestimate the power of love, never underestimate you ability to impact the lives of others . Always expect the best of everyone, have the highest expectations. No one knows what they are capable of until they’re put in the position to excel.
