A few Concepts…….
6
What is Visualization?
7
Visualization describes the field of study that uses interactive graphical tools to explore and present digitally represented data that might be simulated, measured, or archived.
8
What is Information Visualization ?
9
Information Visualization
Information visualization is the interdisciplinary study of "the visual representation of large-scale collections of non-numerical information, such as files and lines of code in software systems, library and bibliographic databases, networks of relations on the internet, and so forth
10
Digital Visualization
11
Digital Visualization
Digital visualisation is a fundamental research and communication tool. In scientific visualisation the data being visualised is usually numerical whereas in the humanities it is far more likely to be textual, spatial or derived from physical artefacts.
12
Challenges of Digital Humanities
• Developing new genres for complex information presentation can be shared • Creating a literacy in information analysis and visualization • Expanding classically text-based pedagogy to include simulation, animation, and spatial and geographic representation.
13
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
14
Statement of Problem In this competitive world, result orientation has become the order of the day Organizations have become so target oriented that sometimes some categories of people are neglected or not given that much of importance due to various factors The problem revolves around how Information visualization can be utilized to make physically challenged people also to contribute to the performance of the organization
15
Objectives of Research
To present a new form of fluency To help effective creation and analysis of information To enable the benefits of this technology to be used by not just normal people but also by physically challenged people
16
SOURCES OF DATA PRIMARY DATA SOURCES OF DATA SECONDARY DATA
17
Type of Research Sampling Unit
The type of research conducted is a combination of secondary and primary research The sampling unit is 6 organizations have been considered Sampling Unit

ORGANISATIONS Designmate (I) Pvt. Ltd is one of the reputed multimedia e-learning companies in the world. Today we have more than 120 physically challenged employees working. Designmate has been in operation for almost 22 years as a creative 3D production house developing eContent for K12 education. We pioneer in animations and use of graphics to simplify concepts of science, maths, biology, physics and chemistry. The eContent created is a unique combination of videos, images, texts, simulations and quizzes known as “Eureka” the universal expression of discovery. The universal curriculum based library can be mapped to any syllabus and takes care of a wide range of international customers like schools, scientific centers and ministries of education. HCL hired people …who are deaf n dumb and train them and help them to deliver results and contribute to the overall performance of the organisation Wipro, is an organization which made all its campus are designed to accommodate physically challenged people and it gives a 5% preference to the physically challenged people IBM hires employees who are physically disabled people and also not just trains them but also makes them competent to also take initiative like CSR activities, talent management
19
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
20
Summary of Findings 120 Employees who are physically challenged, through the usage of the technology of “Information Visualization” contribute to the firm’s performance of Designmate. Wipro gives 5% of preference to the employees who are visually impaired. 2% of the employees who are hired in HCL are physically challenged and who contribute to the performance of the organization
21
Summary of Findings Around 100 employees have been employed in IBM who are visually impaired and are being given an opportunity to perform and contribute to the firm. 1% of people who are physically challenged are trained to suit the needs of Unilever and they are given an opportunity to compete in the global economy. 14% of the people working in Shell are physically challenged.
22
SUGGESTIONS
23
SUGGESTIONS Web 2.0 is the technology used for information visualization and it should be used for the visually impaired to enable them to contribute to the firm Good tools for scholarship must include ways to view the underlying assumptions, to visualize and examine alternative interpretations, and to expose the degree of uncertainty
24
SUGGESTIONS Organizations must equip itself with various tools, technologies and methods of training the physically challenged and give them a chance to prove themselves. Also, the management should have a methodology of handling physically challenged in terms of communication, delegation and expectancy of results.
25
LIMITATIONS OF STUDY
26
LIMITATIONS OF STUDY The study is confined to only 6 organizations
The study is limited to Bangalore. Researcher has adopted convenience and limited sample due to constraint of time.
