Various organizations – like National Organization for Women (NOW), 1966 work on certain goals on behalf of women: 1. Passage of EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT (ERA) Constitutional amendment: “equality… not be denied on account of gender” – failed to pass CIVIL Rights Act of 1964 passed
