2 1) This is the opening scene of the trailer, it is an establishing shot of the location in Mexico. In the shot, the audience can see many city buildings and a bright sunset. This could show that the film is going to be exciting.

3 2) In this scene, misc-en-scene is used to give the audience more detail on the current setting of the film which is the Day of the Dead festival in Mexico. This is a festival where the locals dress up in skull masks and costumes to commemorate the dead. This makes the audience anticipate action as it may lead to death.

3) In this shot, the camera follows two main characters. Their costumes blend in with the other festival-goers however, their faces are not shown to the audience and the camera follows them which gives the audience a sense of mystery.

5 4) This close up shot confirms that the masked man is the main character as the camera
gets closer and closer to him signifying that he will play an important role in the film. However, his face is not fully revealed to the audience which continues the theme of mystery. Excitement is constantly built up through these scenes.

5) In this shot, the main character, James Bond is finally revealed. He is wearing a fitted suit with black leather shoes and no longer blends in with the rest of the festival-goers. He also brandishes a large gun which shows the audience that action is about to arise. He is also standing on the end of a building. This shows the level of danger that Bond is about to face.

7 6) This over the shoulder shot puts the audience in the perspective of Bond. He is aiming his gun towards a room across the street. A figure can be vaguely seen in the room that he aims towards.

The Houses of Common and other Westminster buildings are shown in the shot. This shows the audience that the characters of the film are of a high class due to the wealthy area displayed.

11 Inspiration from Spectre trailer
The inspiration that I can draw from the Spectre trailer: Establishing shots – It is vital to make your audience aware of the setting. Costume – it is important to portray character’s personality accurately through their clothing Special effects – Special effects can help emphasise action. Use of special effects in a trailer will draw audiences towards a film if executed correctly. Props – E.g. Bond’s gun. Props can be useful to show viewers the nature of the film. Characters – It is also important to tease the main character’s personality in the trailer to give viewers something to look forward to.
