IT system – google Classroom
A cloud database that stores the company’s vital information Helps compute financial values and company summary charts Used when submitting documents

Start by going to Google and clicking sign in

Login using the information provided on the sheet for Google Classroom
You will need to change your password upon the first sign in

Go to Google Classroom website
(you can just search for Google Classroom) Select student

Click Join Class Input the class code on the sheet provided After this you will have full access to your Google Classroom for your company and files for weekly worksheets that need to be completed by VPs

VP IT - Responsibility Every week executives will fill out the Weekly Journals Cloud data bases allow everyone to contribute to files therefore you will not be gathering information but rather managing it At the end of every JA meeting you should be checking whether the other VPs have updated their files. Your worksheet will be used to manipulate company data into comprehensive models. Using the values inputted by the other executives, you will create graphical representations of company data

Your Weekly worksheet will include the following sheets
Weekly share value progression Total sales tracking Individual sales tracking Production tracking Attendance tracking All values can be found in the other executive worksheets. What do you do now? Use these sheets to make graphical representations

Sales goals vs actual sales by member **The VP IT Weekly Worksheet on Google Classroom should be seen as the minimum number of data manipulations you should be performing. During audit and shareholders report your executive team will need these graphical representations to include in the documents. Therefore you will be responsible for helping them complete these task These tools will be crucial in measuring progression and growth of the company. Think of these as snapshots of performance.

Website Development & blog
This year, JA is providing free web-hosting and a subdomain for all companies. What is web-hosting? Web-hosting is where you store your data files online for your website. What is a sub-domain? First of all, a domain is an internet address (like a subdomain is a part of that address (i.e. Buying a separate domain is optional Provide link to ABC team Benefits of WordPress?

Integrates the blog feature into the website. Many free templates and plugins to make functional. Your website URL will be your company name followed by .jacompanyprogram.com It is also written on your login information sheets. Explain how to log into your dashboard. -can switch to demonstrating in a webpage.

Content Functionality Design Connectivity
Website Guidelines Does it have: 5 pages? (Eg. About, Product, blog, etc) 10 plugins? a Favicon? a Contact Us form? links to social media accounts? Content Functionality Design Connectivity Please explain to students how to use WordPress. Some guiding points: How to create pages Place content on the pages Upload media and input it into the display What are plugins How to change the favicon How to set up forms or customer contacts directly on the webpage How to insert hyperlinks How to add users to the website ***on each website there will be a user named jacp, warn the students not to delete this user since it is the JA staff’s account for verifying their website development. If students accidently delete this account have them contact the ABC team immediately. If we find out the account has been deleted we will reset the entire website and the student will have to start from scratch The above criteria will be marked for in the audit.

Blog must be updated WEEKLY in order to gain full audit points Needs to have content (pictures, paragraph of text) You can ask somebody different each week to write the blog post about what your company is doing that week and how you have progressed

Free templates usually mean less functionality or more work to create what you want You can buy well-crafted themes for a good price at Some for as low as $3 Don’t focus on making a ‘fast’ website - make a professional one!

Digital Design Aspects
Collaborate with VP Marketing on business cards, banners, labels There are many places where you can design and order from: Staples www. Vistaprint.ca Required information for the Business Card: Company Name/Logo “A Junior Achievement Company” Contact Information JA Logo MUST be approved by a JA staff before printed. VP Marketing will receive more information on design aspect and aesthetics

Business plan - it Create IT department goals
Discuss with Executives how VP IT can help them with their department goals and plans Determine the process of technology training Provide ideas on how technology can be used to either save time or reach more customers What technological software is available to use and how will the IT department use it? Advise students on how IT can be innovative and help their company succeed. (maybe have them brainstorm together as a group) If students require clarification on business plan information they can direct questions to JA staff

Familiarize company members with technology being used Website maintenance with a Blog Creation of business cards, presentations, graphics, promotional materials, etc. (in tandem with VP Marketing) Help other management positions on technological support
