2 MANDATE “To positively impact on the skills levels in the South African Agricultural Sector” Focussing, inter alia on; Commercial farmers and farm workers (the levy payer) Small scale, emerging, under resourced farmers Land reform beneficiaries Farmers groups eg. agricultural cooperatives

3 OVERARCHING LIMITATIONS
Small income base (100% of levy for 2015/-16 estimated at R360 million, thus discretionary fund of R180 million Can only afford offices in 5 provinces – Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Eastern Cape and KZN Capping by Ministry of Finance further reduced the discretionary fund. Other Departments' income not stable and continuous

4 MATTERS PERTAINING TO QUALIFICATIONS
AgriSETA is one of the leading SETAs in the development of new occupationally aligned qualifications 19 are completed 5 in progress 9 In planning stage BIGGEST CHALLENGE IS THE DELAY IN REGISTRATION OF THE QUALIFICATIONS BY THE QCTO – SERIOUSLY HAMPERS IMPLEMENTATION

6 SOME INTERESTING PROJECTS
1. Cooperative Development - with DRDLR - with KZN Agric Dept Rolled out a programme titled “Farm Together” to the benefit of 236 cooperatives with a total of members benefitting. Programme focussed on the governance, planning and structuring of cooperatives. R24 million 2. Land Reform Projects - with DRDLR Rolled out a total of 28 projects in the last finanical year with 250 beneficiaries on various programmes as identified via needs analysis (mainly skills programmes). R8 million

7 SOME INTERESTING PROJECTS
3. Cooperative Development - with KZN Agric Dept Learnership programmes delivered to identified agricultural cooperative projects in KZN. Total of 28 cooperatives to participate and 84 beneficiaries R3 million 4. EPWP Projects - with Department of Public Works Horticulture and Plant Production learning programmes to the benefit of EPWP beneficiaries. 50 learnerships and skills programmes R22 million 5. Youth Development - with NYDA Youth-led Cooperatives to benefit – total of 490 beneficiaries R2 million
