Body needs to be light for speed Dump non-essential weight Urge to empty bowel and bladder Need energy from glucose Rapid use of blood glucose Dry mouth Brain on high alert Emotional response Feel tearful or angry

Dr Glen Schiraldi categories these into types: focus on what went wrong, and ignore aspects of life that are enjoyable assuming catastrophising all-or-nothing thinking shoulds thinking your feelings are reality overgeneralising abusive labelling personalising: blaming poor comparisons regrets

7 Specific forms of anxiety
panic attacks panic disorder generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) social phobia anxiety with depression

8 Panic attacks increased heart rate sweating, trembling, shaking
choking feeling, shortness of breath chest pain, discomfort nausea feeling dizzy, light-headed, faint fear of dying tingling in extremities - carpal-pedal spasm detachment from oneself and surroundings

9 Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
People who suffer OCD commonly experience distressing and repetitive thoughts. These thoughts are automatic and appear even when they try and resist. These thoughts lead to compulsions. These are behaviours to someone display to reduce or stop the thoughts: for example, handwashing. Common obsessions include: fear of contamination fear of causing harm fear of behaving obsessively need for symmetry/exactness
