Why do we exist? Canadian granting agencies as well as Health Canada require ethics approval of human research We are a city-wide merged Board representing HHS, SJHH and McMaster’s FHS Who can help you? Our Research Ethics Officer: Janice Sancan x 44574 Our application process is now all-electronic for: Initial applications Amendments SAEs/Protocol Deviations Annual Renewals Study Completions 6 FTEs make up our administrative staff We have 2 Panels, with each Panel meeting monthly, and having its own Chair We have sub-committees with reviewers different from the regular Panels: Tissue Sub-committee Student Research Committee Our website: Look under ‘Forms and Downloads’ for: Information about the e-REB system Guidance documents (SAE/Protocol Deviation) Consent form templates Our Systems Administrator: Tina Arnosti x 74605 User manuals & Quick Sheets on our website HiREB HelpDesk (forthcoming) The submission deadline applies only to new applications All other study-related documents can be submitted on an ongoing basis We offer education in various ways: Individual (phone/ /in-person) Group assistance via question & answer sessions at your location Prepared group presentations at your location Lunch & Learn sessions at MUMC: Oct 20 at 12:00 in Rm 1K9 Please register with Janice at Participation in the SJHH HELP sessions Annual Ethics Workshop held with MREB at McMaster University We offer education in the following ways: Lunch & Learn e-REB group sessions Time: h Place: Conference Room, Suite 102, 293 Wellington St North Date: Oct 6 Oct 19 Please register with Tina at in advance Individual ( /phone) Our workload?
