Historical Background of SINDHI CULTURE
The Culture of Sindh has its roots in the Indus Civilization (سنڌي تهذيب). The Indus or Sindhu River that passes through the land, and the Arabian Sea. Province of Sindh has been named after the famous River Indus. In Sanskrit, the province was dubbed Sindhu meaning an ocean.

Sindhi Language Sindhi language evolved over a period of 2400 years.
Sindhi language is an ancient language spoken in Pakistan and many other parts of the world.

Arts & Music Sindhi society is dominated by great Sufis, the mystics and the martyrs. It has always been the land of peace, love, romance, great cultural and artistic values. There were the great Sufi (mystic) poets like Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai who was the cherisher of truth.

Sindhi poetry is also prominent in Sindhi culture. Regional poets are Sheikh Ayaz, UstaadBhukhari, Ahmed Khan MAdhoosh, 'لڳي لڳي وآءُ، وياانگڙا لٽجي، پيئي کٹي پساه، پسڻ ڪارڻ پرين جي' "Wind blew! The sand enveloped the body, Whatever little life left, is to see the beloved.“ سي مون ڏٺا ماء جنين ڏٺو پرين کي تنين سندي ڪا ڪري ن سگھان ڳالھڙي “ O mother! I have seen those who have seen the Beloved I am speechless and of them nothing more can be told."
