The clip art task pane shows all sounds: short sound clips and music clips. To listen to a sound or music clip, click the down arrow and choose Preview/Properties. A dialog box appears allowing you to play the clip automatically or start it manually with a mouse click. Chapter 4 Spotlight on Presentations

10 Setting up the Sound Click the Sound Tools Options tab to display that ribbon. Looping is making a music clip play continuously. To set the music so it plays throughout all the slides, click the down-arrow next to the Play Sound and choose Play across slides. Click next to Loop Until Stopped to place a checkmark in the box. After placing the CD in the disk drive, click the Insert tab and then click the down arrow next to Sound and choose Play CD Audio Track. The Insert CD Audio dialog box opens. From this box, you can choose which tracks to play and choose to loop the music if the presentation is longer than the music clip. Click the down-arrow next to Play Track and choose Play across slides. Click Loop Until Stopped, if necessary. Chapter 4 Spotlight on Presentations

15 Summary Music can be formatted to play throughout the entire presentation. Sounds can be inserted from the Clip Organizer, from a saved file, or from a CD. Personalized sounds can also be recorded and inserted. Music can be formatted to play only on certain slides. Looping the music makes it play over and over until it is stopped. Copyright laws restrict the amount of music used in a presentation to 30 seconds or 10 percent of the song, whichever is less, when the presentation is either sold or shown to a large audience. A sound effect is a specific sound added for emphasis. PowerPoint will allow you to record your own personal sound. Chapter 4 Spotlight on Presentations
