16 Overview of Project Support the growth and development of ICT pathways across the state. Host a Series of Workshops to Inform Educators of Pathway Opportunities in ICT Establish Demonstration Sites and Documentation Cultivate a Web-Based Community of ICT Educators

Demonstration Sites See High Quality CTE Pathways in Action!

18 Demonstration Sites Who?
Four sites with exemplar ICT pathways, one in each of the following: Information Support and Services, Networking, Software and System Design, and Game and Simulation. Where? Two sites in NorCal and two in SoCal When? One day site visits in April/May and June, as well as communication/work via /skype. What? Participate in the documentation of the demonstration sites, focusing on effective instructional, organizational, collaborative practices and advocacy methods. Documentation will be posted on CTE Online through the ICT group. Lead site teachers will be given a stipend. ($35 per hour up to 24 hours)

20 ICT Workshops Who? ICT teachers partnered with STEM teachers, administrators or counselors Where? Nor Cal (Sacramento area), Central Cal (Fresno/Santa Clara area), So Cal (Riverside/San Diego area) When? Two days in April/May and Two days in June STEM teacher participation all four days Administrator/counselor participation only in June

21 ICT Workshops What? Components of high quality ICT pathways and associated ICT standards. Instructional strategies that help students learn basic content from each pathway. Best practices and cross curricular resources for integrating CTE ICT, Common Core Mathematics, and NGSS learning objectives. Identifying and evaluating freely available resources for implementing an ICT pathway. Best practices for connecting with industry partners. Best practices for connecting with college level partners, including articulations, dual enrollment and college credit. Strategies for supporting ICT pathways through advocacy.

Alignment of resources to action, services, and goals of the LCAP connected to the state priorities Best practices in identifying data to show the need for ICT pathways Best practices in identifying data to show the success of pathway Identifying best practices and pitfalls of student placement in ICT pathways, including possible mathematics barrier and general restrictions for course access. Dual Enrollment, Articulation agreements

23 Apply to Participate! Requirements:
have an appropriate credential for the subject and be the assigned teacher in a ICT Sector course. have an interest in / be in the process of creating an ICT pathway. secure site funding for an ICT pathway with a plan for implementation. have an interested STEM teacher and administrator or counselor who can also attend pertinent parts of the workshop series to collaborate and support your ICT pathway.

24 Apply to be an Expert! Requirements:
have an appropriate credential for the subject and be the assigned teacher in a ICT Sector course. have an established ICT pathway with at least three courses in a sequence. have taught 5+ years of an ICT course have administrative approval to attend and participate in two of the four days of professional development Plan to spend 12 hours developing content for the workshop, under the guidance of the ICT Leadership Project Team. This may be completed remotely.
