9 Credit Card Payments on POS
Amadeus Payment Platform 1. Enter transaction details in the POS application with Airport Pay for Amadeus enabled 2. Amadeus Payment Platform acknowledges the payment request and the operating merchant and sends the info to the device 7. Capture and fund transfer Issuers via Network Schemes 3. Activates the device with the right transaction, linked to the right acquirer 6. Transaction sent to appropriate acquirer for Capture [We are awaiting more details on this from the Amadeus EMV team] As depicted on this slide, Amadeus will introduce an EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa - a global standard for inter-operation of integrated circuit cards) multi-merchant payment solution that can be deployed on ACUS as well as Self Service Kiosks and Self Service Bag Drops. The distinguishing features of this service offering are: It will be accompanied by a Chip & Pin card reader device – which will reduce the amount of credit card fraud by approximately 60% over manual credit card payments. The Chip & Pin device will ensure that credit card details are encrypted and passed securely through to the Issuing Bank and Payment Service Provider Amadeus does not accept the payment or hold the customer’s/airline’s funds at any time – our service is more like a message broking service that connects the consumer to the Issuing Bank and the Payment Service Provider. We charge a transaction fee for this service – but unlike other solutions provided by IATA – we do not hold the funds at any time. This solution is available to those Airlines and other entities that Amadeus has established a secure payment gateway – this typically equates to any airline for which we collect customer payments at Travel Agents 4.
