AX2009 introduction of Sites AX2012 had mostly performance tweaks, more robust AX2012 R3 introduces new storage and tracking dimension implications and Demand forecasting AX7: Futures and Future Dates now called Calculated delays and Delay days, using Azure Machine Learning rather than SSAS for demand forecasting, and Excel demand forecast process more streamlined WHS (“WAX”) has “Replenishment” between locations Lean can have Scheduled Kanbans

Static V Dynamics plans Most companies only have 1 or 2 plans, but you can have as many as needed You can copy Static plans to Dynamic Plans or the Static and Dynamic plan could be the same. Dynamic plans used for Explosion/CTP and see demand in real time If using multiple plans, be diligent and ensure you’re updating and reacting to the correct one Some companies will have a Production plan and a Purchasing Plan. © 2012 Microsoft Corporation. Generate a statistical forecast based on transaction history Can copy last period’s demand as new forecast or use SSAS to calculate based on time series parameters Transaction types and historical period to include can be configured Modifiers in the form of parameters can be adjusted for smoothing techniques Can Remove outlier transactions
