6 Priorities Safe Operations Comply with Regulations and Instructions

7 Helping Out We are all part-time (even Joe).
We are a club, not an FBO or school with rentals. This should reduce cost significantly. Our maintenance glide path is probably not sustainable in the long run. Our list of gripes has been slowly growing. IMHO, the best course of action is to enable Joe and the maintainers to focus on the things that only they can do. MWR financials, contracts, payments Hiring and supervision of mechanics Only the mechs can sign off on maintenance. Things we can help with: IT (computer, SkyManager, web site, Facebook) Reports (monthly, annual, safety, and meeting minutes) Facility (update posted material and pubs, organization, cleanup) Aircraft Owner/Operator stuff (next slide)

8 Plane Captains 2 Plane Captains/aircraft? Possible tasks:
Know your plane’s idiosyncrasies Keep ADB & POH current Keep nav database updated (Arrow) Ensure aircraft has onboard: Current checklists Oil, funnel or spout, rags Fuel strainers Window cleaner and cloth Life preservers Working tow bar Functional covers (cowl plugs, pitot tube, aircraft) Weekly check of aircraft including tire pressure Occasional cleaning, vacuuming, washing, and waxing

9 Designate PRNFC Staff Assistant Maintenance Officer
Coordinate work of Plane Captains Create Procedures for: Battery Changing and Jump Starting Aircraft De-icing Contaminated Fuel Disposal Filling Engines with Oil and Container Disposal Help synchronize ADBs and SkyManager Both for pilot entries and maintenance actions Organize maintenance documentation Back up Maintenance Officer, as required Information Technology Officer Web site, Facebook ISP, telephone, cable

10 Volunteers? Work together, have backups
Everyone contributes a little, then no one has to do a lot. Possible weekend maintenance days with mechs and pilots helping out Recognize contributions Make it social & have fun
