6 Financial aid process FAFSA WASFA
Create an FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov you and parent use separate addresses. If your parent is undocumented they should not create an FSA ID and use zero’s for their social security #. They will need to print, sign and mail a signature page. Use your FSA ID to log in and complete the FAFSA at fafsa.gov Check for an confirming you have successfully submitted the FAFSA Go to readysetgrad.org/wasfa and click on “Start a New WASFA.” Complete eligibility questionnaire. Create account and save login and password. Complete and submit your application. What is the parent signature on the WASFA? You will need to send an invitation to one parent to electronically sign your WASFA. Be sure you and your parent use separate addresses. *Don’t FORGET: Your parent’s electronic signature is needed to complete application. *YOUR parent must electronically sign within 72 hours of being invited Financial aid process

All colleges have an application posted on their schools website. You can submit vocational, technical, 2 year or 4 year university applications online and sometimes in person, or by mail. What documents will I need to apply? Official transcript Senior Schedule Test scores for SAT or ACT Personal Statement/Short answer responses Activity Log/Resume Letter of recommendations Applying for colleges

Four year college application process: submit Financial Aid Read admission requirements, create an online acct Request letter of req’s Request official transcript Send SAT or ACT scores Write edit personal statement/short answers Complete and submit college application RECEIVE a confirmation that your application was successfully submitted. 2-year college application process: Apply online, by mail or in person Submit the FAFSA or WASFA Take Placement test at college. Some colleges also accept transcripts or other for placements. Schedule an academic advising appointment. **Apprenticeships, vocational and technical certifications have unique application process.
