Visualizing Life on Earth: Data Interpretation in Evolution
This online, interactive investigation is a result of a collaboration between NASA PI David Jablonski (University of Chicago) and colleagues, and the Understanding Evolution project ( at UC Berkeley, and was funded through a ROSES supplement to an Exobiology Program grant: Designed for use in high school and college biology courses Students construct and analyze explanations for the paucity of life at the Poles and the diversity of the Tropics by integrating fossil and present-day data. Builds data interpretation and scientific reasoning skills through multiple choice questions and free response essay items Since its launch in April 2010, the module has received more than 700 page views.
