1 Frequency Sensitivity to Dimensions
Cavity length Cavity radius OC rounding radius Cavity radius Pole displacement

2 Fabrication Tolerance
Starting point: The multipole components are not sensitive to the dimensional tolerance to a certain level. Each fabrication stage (stamping, trimming, final welding) provides means of compensating the resulting frequency. We assume the stamped parts’ dimensions are determined by the stamping die when the parts are fixtured to avoid the spring back. Die dimension and/or profile within +/-0.1mm (arbitrary number based on typical machining tolerance) from the design. Accumulated frequency deviation: +/- 550 kHz, cavity length not accounted. 550 kHz deviation means 4.3mm of variation in the cavity length at the trimming before the end cap welding. Cavity drawing: +/-0.10 mm tolerance on cavity radius, pole radius and rounding radius. +/-0.15 mm tolerance on pole displacement (considering added step-weld) +/-2.5 mm tolerance on cavity length Larger tolerance can be accommodated.
