1 Comparing Levels of Development in Latin America: Day 1
Select 2 countries from the list to Compare to the United States. In ABC-CLIO’s CLIO View, Compare the following demographic data for the countries you selected: GDP Per Capita Literacy (rate) Average Life Expectancy Infant Mortality Rate Doctors (per 1,000 people) Unemployment Rate Answer today’s questions and explain how these factors impact a country’s level of development. Once you have answered today’s questions, you can select other countries to compare and think about which country you would like to select for tomorrow’s activity.

Understanding Levels of Development: If you had to live in one of the countries listed in your table, in which country would you best be able to meet your desires for economic goods and services? Why? (Explain what level of development you believe this country is in, and why you believe this country would be able to meet your needs more than the others?) If you had to live in one of these countries listed in your table, in which country would you least be able to meet your desires for economic goods and services? (Explain what level of development you believe this country is in, and why you believe this country would NOT be able to meet your needs?)
