1 Bradford cycling campaign
Let’s Make Bradford a Capital of Cycling!

2 The story so far Originated as a Facebook Group (now almost 300 members) Properly constituted via an AGM but independent of Council and other authorities Chair – David Robison, Secretary – James Craig, Treasurer – Steve Lax We attend and contribute to B-Spoke consultation forum and other planning meetings involving traffic planners etc. Website, social media, mailing list and ‘digital tools’ are active and allow us to share resources freely (no cost to join in here) Paid membership now available ( and we need to grow active members We’re partnered with Bradford Cycle Club who are going from strength to strength (and are in the T&A more than car crime!)

3 Some of What we’re doing
Meet monthly to discuss/progress campaign objectives including: Encourage provision for cyclists (e.g. on/off-road, integrated public transport & workplaces) Campaign for joined up thinking across sectors (health, air quality, congestion, urban design, community well-being, sport, mental health, climate change etc.) Support campaign against poor driving/address safety issues Organise an annual event (with speakers such as Roger Geffen, Robin Lovelace) Successful Campaign to get a political ‘cycling champion’ in Bradford Council Logging and tracking ‘issues’ – originally via meeting minutes and Google Docs, but wish to make you aware of Cycle Scape (
