May 15, 2017 Mrs. Hicks’ Classroom News 4th Grade Awards Assembly Our awards assembly will begin promptly at 9am on May 25th. Immediately following the ceremony, there will be a field trip for the students to the bowling alley! We are very excited to be able to provide this opportunity for them and can’t believe the end of the year is already here. Questions? As we are wrapping up the final loose ends of the year, please feel free to send any questions you might have via Class Dojo or . It becomes increasingly hard to return voice messages as our down time is extremely limited with additional end of the year meetings, etc. Thank you for your understanding! Math: We are finishing our end of the year math benchmark. We will also be sending home their latest STAR Math scores in their agendas this week! Please celebrate with your student on their incredible effort this year! Science: We will be wrapping up our Earth Science Unit this week. Their final Earth Science exam is on Wednesday. Attached is the science study guide they should have received in their Friday folder. This is by far the largest unit in our science curriculum, therefore has the most information for our students to master. Please take a moment to review the vocabulary, in particular, with your student. We will be reviewing on Monday in class, wrapping up any loose ends, and will test on Wednesday! Thank you in advance for your support! 4th Grade Field Trip, May 18 – We will be leaving the school at 9:30am. Please pack a sack lunch for your student with only items that can be thrown away. If you plan on being a chaperone, we would LOVE to have you! Please send me an to let me know that you have your background check on file with the school, and will be attending! Please make sure that your student is also prepared with bug spray, sunscreen, head, and eye protection, and closed toed shoes! We will be watching the weather forecast throughout the week and have backup plans in case of bad weather! Antler Day, May 22 – we are in need of volunteers for our beloved antler day!
