February 3, 2017 Dates to Remember Classroom News February 14 – all school liturgy. Valentine’s party in the afternoon February 20 – Presidents Day – No School February 26- Open House February 27 – No School Since we have had altered schedules the past 2 weeks, we have missed library. Therefore we will have library on Monday this week. There will be a Science test on Wednesday. Please use the slides and study sheet which can be found in Google Classroom We will be passing out valentines at our party on Tuesday of next week. Please keep in mind that there are 25 students, so if you are planning on your child handing them out we ask that there is one for everyone. This way we can avoid unnecessary hurt feelings. The next two oral book reports will be on the following dates: 2/15 and 2/28 Beginning in February the students will not be permitted to use any notecards. After we finish reading “The Indian in the Cupboard” we will be doing a project in class. Please save any tissue boxes, tp rolls, or other such supplies. . Spelling Words What We’re Learning Next Week Reading: Continue reading The Indian in the Cupboard. Chapter 9-12 quiz on Monday. Religion: Continue Chapter 8. Grammar: Grammar SS quiz Thurs 2/9. Math: chapter 6 test on Thursday. We will review on Tues. and Wed. Science: Part 2 of Earth Science test on Wednesday Social Studies: Continue working in class on our Ohio history report. Unit 20 stumble dampen trouble moisten eagle double harden weaken brighten tighten thicken example wrinkle darken Soften tremble lighten fasten Table blacken Bonus words: sagacious Belle Valley Other Information Here The students topics for the Ohio history report are now listed on the class website. Mrs. Wright will update the list with presentation dates once the dates are assigned. Our spelling sentences have changed. Tests will still be worth 26 points, but students will be allowed to choose one spelling word and create their own sentence. They will earn a point for starting with a capital letter, a point for spelling their chosen word correctly, and a point for punctuation. All work (homework, tests, quizzes, and classwork) will need to be completed in cursive (except on our pass day, Wednesday). Mrs. Boellner’s address is if you have any questions or concerns.
